Bola Olowe, FNSE

Bola was until recently the managing director of Konsadem Associates Ltd where he began his civil engineering career thirty years ago, as a pupil engineer and held various roles and positions until he became the managing director in 2010. He recently led a team of local and international firms to design the first integrated waste management project in West Africa, which included a material waste recovery facility (MRF), sanitary landfill, closure of existing landfill and landfill gas recovery facility in Lagos, Nigeria.

His diverse experience covers water resources, waste management and infrastructural engineering. He holds B.Sc. (Hons) – Civil Engineering from the University of Lagos, M.Sc. – Water & Waste from Loughborough University, United Kingdom and MBA from the University of Ibadan. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and is licenced to practice engineering in Nigeria by the Council for the Regulation of Engineering, Nigeria (COREN).

Wale has a multi-disciplinary professional background in engineering, accountancy, audit and system implementation. After graduating from University of Lagos with a first class in civil engineering and a MSc with distinction in civil engineering - specialising in hydraulic & hydrology, he qualified as a chartered accountant with Ernst & Young, London. Wale’s waste management experience spans from managing a garbage collection company, training garbage collectors in operational effectiveness and administrative efficiency to leading the international consortium that won the bid to finance, design, build and operate of a material recovery facility (MRF) in Lagos - the first of its kind in West Africa in 2011.
